2021 Fundraiser Gala

In commemoration our fifth year of service, our first ever Fundraiser Gala celebrates the efforts and contributions of our long-term supporters, stakeholders, and fellow community members in search of a supportive Filipino organization to call home.

Our theme, "Healing for the Community & Ourselves," honors September as National Suicide Prevention & Awareness month, and pays tribute to those in our community recovering, starting recovery, or wishing recovery and restoration of their mental health and well-being.

Meet Our Guest 2021 Speaker

Erin Manalo Pedro

Erin Manalo-Pedro, MPH, CHES is currently a PhD student at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Community Health Sciences. She studies how education may harm or heal communities of color, particularly through structural racism, curriculum, and the health workforce. Her research projects include examining the effects of immigration enforcement on college students' mental health and investigating institutional barriers to introducing health justice curriculum. This summer, she worked for UC Berkeley's D-Lab to identify racism narratives in medical journals. For the 2021-2022 academic year, Erin will be a graduate student researcher for the NIH-funded Health of Philippine Emigrants Study and an ambassador for the Association of Schools and Programs in Public Health.
